Ajjayy Sharrma

A sound engineer by qualification having studied at the Institute of Audio Research (New York), Ajjayy was always technically inclined. Photography being a hobby, he shot many a family film/video at a very early age. Having grown up in a cinema environment, owing to his father, the internationally renowned music composer ‘Padmashri’ Ravi who has composed music for more than 200 feature films, Ajjayy was inertly drawn into film-making.

He is one of the very few film makers to have been commissioned a television show by the British television company Channel Four Television (London).

Produced & Directed - KHAMOSH NIGAHEN (1987)

Starring Rakesh Roshan, Deepti Naval, Swaroop Sampat, Daleep Tahil, Shashikala, Shubha Khote & others with lyrics & music by Ravi, dialogues by Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza, cinematography by Nandoo Bhattacharya.

Directed MERAA SUHAAG (1988)

Starring Rati Agnihotri, Tanuja, Swaroop Sampat, Pankaj Dheer & others with lyrics & music by Ravi, dialogues by Dr. Achala Nagar, cinematography by Thomas Xavier (debut).

Television Series

	Directed & Produced a series commissioned by CHANNEL FOUR TELEVISION(London) titled THE PLAYFUL MUSE (1991) featuring Aroona Irani, Deepti Naval, Varsha Usgaonker, Neena Gupta, Pooja Bedi, Sujata Mehta, Sudha Chandran, Shikha Swaroop, Kim, Poonam Gidwani, Saeed Jaffery, Sachin, Nitish Bharadwaj, Aroon Baxi, Rishabh Shukla, Arjun & others.
	Directed RANGOLI (1993) on DOORDARSHAN featuring Rakesh Roshan, Manisha Koirala, Ravi (music director), Manna Dey (singer ), Suman Kalyanpur (singer) & others.
	Directed a series titled SORRY PROFESSOR (1994) featuring Satish Shah, Sudhir Pandey, Prabha Sinha and introducing Aditi Gowitrikar (debut), Ashwini Kalsekar (debut), Sohail (debut), Rajesh Sawhney (debut) & others; telecast on Channel YES.
	Produced & Directed 10 TALK SHOWS [80 episodes] (1998) for RITV’s GURJARI & LASHKARA channels featuring: Nikki Aneja, Ketki Dave, Apara Mehta, Upasana Singh, Sujata Mehta, Tina Ghai, Shweta Kwatra (debut), Vandana Pathak, Anita Kanwal, Sejal Shah, Channa Ruparel & others.
	Directed TELE-MAIL, ONLINE, JOB SHOP, ONE TWO KA FOUR, JEEVAN SAATHI[130+ episodes] (2001-2002) - shows for SN TV starring Raymon Singh, Sagarika Soni & others. Also directed all Channel ADS / PROMOS.
	Produced & Directed KALAKAARZ, as the first ever Co-Production with India's National Broadcaster - Doordarshan (2005-2006). It also happens to be the first 'Reality' TV Show on Doordarshan the hosts being Hussein & Shraddha Nigam . The show was an 'Acting Talent Hunt' featuring Deepti Naval, Poonam Dhillon, Varsha Usgaonker, Reema Lagoo, Sudha Chandran, Vidhya Sinha, Aditi Gowitrikar, Suneel Darshan, Gufi Paintal & Amol Palekar. Music composed by Leslie Lewis.
